Underfloor Heating

Over the past decade Excel has developed a range of custom made insulation products specifically designed for use with warm water underfloor heating systems.

We manufacture three different types of insulation panels for underfloor heating, all of which are custom made to meet your individual design and performance requirements.

Profoil™

Profoil™ Insulation Panels are of a unique design and provide many advantages over other insulation products when used with warm water underfloor heating systems. A rigid thermal insulation material with radiused grooves located in the upper surface has a metallized foil bonded to it which follows into the grooves and acts as a radiant surface improving heat transfer. Profoil™ Insulation Panels provide a bespoke, cost effective solution for Floating Floor, Timber Suspended Floor, Floor on Floor and Battened Floor systems.

Pre-Grooved Insulation

Pre-grooved Insulation Panels comprise a rigid thermal insulation material, with radiused grooves in the upper surface, onto which aluminium heat diffusion plates are layed allowing the underfloor heating pipework to be pressed into place without the need for supplementary fixings. Pre-grooved insulation panels can be used for Floating Floors, Suspended Timber Floors, Floor on Floor and Battened Floor systems.

Profix™

The Profix™ Insulation Panel has been developed specifically for use with sand / cement screeded floors and liquid flow screeds. Comprising a rigid thermal insulation material, with a choice of either a Cross-Woven Aluminium Foil or a High Density Polyethylene Woven Film bonded to its upper surface, the underfloor heating pipework is fixed to the panel using specially designed “U” shaped plastic staples.
